Last, but not least was Giza. We did pick the best hotel in the area to stay for two nights. The Hayat Hotel stands in front of the Pyramid Complex so can enjoy the view 24/7. I couldn’t have enough. I was so amazed I couldn’t stop staring while in the room or at the restaurant. It was an amazing experience. The best part, is that you could enjoy the night light show with a premium seat without having to pay the fee and without dealing with the crowd.
We used Emo Tours to visit Giza, Memphis City, Dashur and Saqqara Pyramids. All in a day! It was great. We had again a private driver and guide that took us very early in the morning. The place was already crowded at opening. The good news is that the complex is immense -so you will need a car or rent a camel to navigate through it-and actually, in ancient times it held more than 124 pyramids. Isn’t that amazing?
The Great Pyramids – Cheops, Chephren & Mykerinos- were built by the same family 4,500 years and each took around 30 years to build. As they were the first type of tombs being built for the pharaohs, they have no decor on their interiors. They are very rudimentary and they are hard to access. Basically, you have to get all the way down into a chamber through a tunnel that doesn’t allow you to stand (1.20 cm high) However, it is worth to visit!

A few miles into the complex you will find a photo stop that allows you take enough pictures with the pyramids on the background. Great place to stop for a few minutes. This was the best time to enjoy and pose!
The last stop was the Great Sphinx. The legendary guardian that stands by the huge funeral complex with its lion body and the head of king Chephren. Iconic for sure! Certainly one of a kind in its beauty and size!

Our visit lasted around two hours. Immediately after we drove to Sakkara, located 27 km southwest away from Cairo. Also known as the Step Pyramid (Built for king Zoser), it is considered an important part of the process of pyramid’s evolution in their materials and construction methods. Its a good place to visit: not very crowded and a very special type of pyramid that you wouldn’t expect to see.
Then we headed towards Memphis City, the ancient capital of Egypt, where the colossal statue of Ramses II and the great Alabaster Sphinx are located. The visit doesn’t take very long. However, is worth taking a look at the magnificent statues and ruins that surround this place. You don’t want to miss it!

The last site on the tour was the Dahshur area, a royal necropolis located approximately 40 kilometers (25 mi) south of Cairo. It is known chiefly for several Pyramids, two of which are Among the oldest, largest and best preserved in Egypt, built from 2613–2589 BCE.
The Red Pyramid was named for the rusty reddish hue of its red limestones, it is also the third largest Egyptian pyramid. The Bent Pyramid rises from the desert at a 54-degree inclination, but the top section (above 47 meters) is built at the shallower angle of 43 degrees, lending the pyramid its very obvious appearance Certainly, they are both one of a kind.

Our tour actually ended early in the afternoon. It was definitely an entire day plan. However, they were all must-see’s for any tourist. I highly recommend it!
